Representation in media is the way a specific text depicts a certain age group, gender, ethnic group, religion, social class etc. The media has the power to change and form the audience's perception of any group of people.
Everything we are listening to or seeing has a constructed meaning/representation. Representation is present in many forms such as newspapers, film, radio and TV. It is important as it builds people's perspectives about certain people which also applies to and comes through in real life.
